joy in your presence

"you will fill me with joy in your presence."
Acts 2:28

I realize that this is taking the above passage out of context, but it struck me in reading this phrase how this can also describe our experience in prayer. That no matter what is going one, we can just come before God and rest in his presence, and know joy in that presence.

This also reminded me of some lines from Sara Groves' song, Every Minute. Again, I am taking this out of her intended context (sorry about that), but just read these lines and think on them in connection with prayer and of being filled with the joy of God's presence...

I am long on staying
I am slow to leave
Especially when it comes to you my friend
Your have taught me to slow down
And to prop up my feet
It's the fine art of being who I am
And I can't figure out
Why you want me around
I'm not the smartest person I have ever met
But somehow that doesn't matter
No it never really mattered to you at all
And at the risk of wearing out my welcome
At the risk of self-discovery
I'll take every moment
And every minute that you'll give me
