the Shepherd's voice

"The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice."
John 10:2-4

"At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
'Woman,' he said, 'why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?'
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, 'Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.'
Jesus said to her, 'Mary.'
She turned toware him and cried out in Aramaic, 'Rabboni!' (which means Teacher.).
John 20:14-16

Maybe this is part of why Scripture speaks to our hearts in a way that nothing else can. Because in it, we are hearing our Shepherd's voice, calling us by name and leading us.

"Speak, for your servant is listening."

Grace and truth..... Lord I struggle with this. I tend to show one or the other. Please give me the wisdom to be able to show both, in love. In Jesus name, amen
